To find such ‘kawaii’ litter bins in Peru was a real surprise

Peruvian litter bin
For these watercolors Yana got her inspiration from the small village San Roque de Cumbaza in Peru. Here she resided in 2019 as artist in residence at the Sachaqa Centro de Arte. Yana's depiction of street furniture shows her ongoing interest in the urban landscape, which is the maintheme of her artworks. Previous projects are the 'Japanese vending machine' series and the 'Japanese sacred space' series.
